Mission: To spread the art of tabla while nurturing culture and values among students

 

Vision: Our vision is that every student should develop and imbibe the following skills

 

• Should be a good human being

• Should have the best knowledge of the traditional tabla compositions

• Should be an able accompanist for other indian classical instrumentalists

 

Tabla talim sanstha is an organization based out of Ahmedabad, India.

 

The organization is dedicated to preserving and propagating the knowledge of Indian classical music, by teaching young kids, the Indian classical percussion instrument - tabla . Scores of young kids learn this art form from Guruji Shri Munjal Mehta. The organization also provides a platform for its students to showcase their talent, collaborate with peers and rub shoulders with established artists.

 

Each year, students also undergo evaluations/tests by recognized instutions and thereby gain a knowledge of theory as well as practical recitals. Examinations are conducted by 1) Bruhad Gujarat Sangeet Samiti 2) Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya. Many students have completed the Sangeet Visharad examination level (equivalent of a bachelor's degree) and are able to obtain employment based on this qualification.

 

Each year, promising students apply for national level scholarships (NCERT) and scores of students so far have received recognition and a monthly stipend from the central government, to encourage and motivate them to continue pursuing this art form.
